Tenancy Deposit Schemes - Draft for Consultation
The Scottish Government is pleased to announce that a consultation paper on the draft regulations for tenancy deposit schemes in Scotland has been published.
The Housing (Scotland) 2006 Act gives Scottish Ministers powers to bring forward regulations for the approval of mandatory national schemes to safeguard tenancy deposits. This was in response to concerns over deposits being unfairly by landlords when a tenancy ends.
The consultation seeks views from all interested parties on the draft regulations that will set out the conditions that tenancy deposit schemes must meet before they can be approved by Scottish Ministers.
The consultation will run until 3 October 2010.
Please note that we cannot accept responses to the consultation after the closing date.
