Hugh McClung - Chair
I have been involved in tenant groups and community councils since 1970’s. I founded the original Cowane’s tenants forum in Stirling in 1973. I was chairperson of Forth Housing Association 1995 to 1997, and was a committee member for 10 years. I was co-founder of Stirling Tenants Assembly in 2003 to respond to stock transfer issues and I have been in the Chairperson role since then. I am a member of the Stirling Council Housing Advisory Group giving tenants views on housing services and policy issues.
I was elected as a representative to the Central Region Network Steering Group in 2007 and elected chairperson at the 2008 and 2009 Annual General Meetings (AGM). I was a sounding board member for the new Scottish Housing Regulator in 2008/2009 and elected to the board of the Tenant Participation Advisory Service (TPAS) in 2005.
My aim is to see the return of good quality social housing for all who need it. I am married with two grown up children and one Grandson. I have lived in Stirling for 40 years.
Therese Mullen – Vice Chair
Therese is a tenant of 30 years standing and lives in Whitburn, West Lothian. She is an active member of her local T&R group (LOBS) where she has held a number of committee posts over the past 10 years.
At national level Therese has been involved as:
- A member of Communities Scotland’s pilot project Tenants Talking to Tenants;
- A steering group member helping to establish the Regional Networks;
- A Tenant Assessor with the Scottish Housing Regulator (current); and
- A member of Tenants Regulatory Advisory Group (current).
Danny Mullen – Secretary
Danny lives in Whitburn, West Lothian, and is a member of LOBS T&R Association. He is also Chair of Five Sisters Housing Network and a member of West Lothian Tenants Panel. Danny also sits as a tenant representative on West Lothian Council’s Communities Policy, Development and Scrutiny Panel.
Danny’s other housing interests include:
- Tenant Assessor with the Scottish Housing Regulator
- Board Member with West Lothian Housing Partnership
- Executive member of Tenants Information Service
Jack Hardman
Jack is now retired, having completed a number of years as an electrical engineer in the construction industry and 5 years as Scottish manager within the home improvement industry.
Jack is now heavily involved in his local voluntary sector. He is currently Chairperson of his local group (Lower Tullibody Residents Association) and serves as a committee member of Clackmannan Tenants and Residents Federation. Jack has also previously held the position of director with the Tullibody Healthy Living Initiative.
Moira Robertson
Moira lives in Crianlarich and is retired. Since 1992 Moira has been active as a community councillor for her local area and although having previously established a local tenants group, it foundered with the demise of Stirling Tenants Federation.
Moira again became involved in tenant issues during Stirling Council’s consideration of stock transfer and has been involved ever since. She was a member of the Steering Group that eventually established Stirling Tenants Assembly and the Strathfillan Housing Group. Today she is very active in both these organisations.
Geoff Morgan
Geoff is the eighth of ten children born to James and Doris Morgan. He is 72 years young and originally hails from Altrincham in Cheshire. He was married in Scotland in 1961.
Geoff’s employment experience includes working as a dog handler with the Royal Air Force Police (GSM); as an insurance agent; as a health and safety supervisor in the chemical industry; and as a court officer in the criminal justice service.
As well as being a member of CRN, Geoff holds elected posts in a number of local organisations, including: Hon Chair of his local Residents Association, Hon Treasurer of Falkirk Central Community Council and Vice Convenor of Falkirk Area Forum.
Susan Robertson - Treasurer
I live in Tullibody and I am treasurer of Clackmannanshire Tenants Federation. In addition to my treasurers duties I also play an active part in my local community being a board member of Paragon Housing Association, a community representative and a volunteer in my local credit union. I represent the federation on a number of housing and related working groups while also looking after the needs of my family and making time for my 10 grandchildren.
Alexander Lamb
I was born in Stirling in 1925 and I have lived in the same house ever since. I started work with the War Department in Stirling in 1939 and joined the RAF in 1944. I flew during the war with Bomber Command as an Air Gunner. I retired from the civil service in 1986 after 46 years.
I have been with the Stirling Tenants Assembly for many years as a committee member. I am also a member of the Tenant Led Inspection Team which looks at the services that Stirling Council provides to its tenants and how these can be improved.
I have been involved with the regional networks since the beginning of the consultation process and was a member of the steering group that set up Central Regional Network.
Jean Murray
I am a tenant of Paragon Housing Association and a member of the Grangemouth Paragon Residents Association for the last 15 years. I am currently the chairperson of this group. I am also on the management committee of Paragon Housing Association. I have been involved with the regional networks as a member of the steering group and now as an elected committee member representing the Falkirk area. I have a particular interest in representing the views of housing association tenants in national housing policy.
Helen Campbell
I am a tenant of Paragon Housing Association and I am also a member of Grangemouth Paragon Residents Association. I am currently the treasurer of this group. I have also been involved with the regional networks since the steering group was established. I look forward to representing the views of tenants from the Falkirk area of the Central Region Network.
Helen Forest - Vice Chair
I live in Tullibody, Clackmannanshire and I am currently secretary of Clackmannanshire Tenants Federation. In this capacity I play a major role in representing tenants interests to Clackmannanshire Council , Paragon HA and Ochil view HA. Being a committed community activist Helen also juggles her role as mother and grandmother with a range of other community interests, acting as local community representative, a credit union volunteer, an executive member of Tenants Information Service (TIS) and a board member of Paragon Housing Association.
Cathy Traynor
Cathy trained as a scientist and spent a large portion of her working life in research and development: working on various projects including anti- corrosion issues and the use of new technology for guidance systems. Cathy has always been involved in community interests and was Secretary of the Regeneration Group at the Top of the Town in Stirling. Her activities here led to the reopening and refurbishment of the Stirling Boys' Club in which she now serves as Vice Chair of the Management Committee. Housing issues have been a lifelong interest for Cathy as she has always maintained that good housing is essential for good health. Cathy has also pursued her housing interests at national level through the Better Government for Older People programme and as Chair of the UK Older People's Advisory Group.
